WHAT WE DO

Caring Paws Animal Therapy (CPAT) aims to provide caring and supportive pet therapy visits to any institution in Quebec where there is a need, while upholding and promoting the highest standards of conduct towards all.

PROGRAMS

ADULT/SENIOR

PETS MAKE US HAPPY

The unconditional love they provide helps alleviate depression and feelings of isolation. Recognizing these therapeutic benefits, our volunteer teams visit adults in over 30 facilities on the West Island and in Montreal.

WHERE WE SERVE:

Hospitals

Senior drop-in centers

Long-term care facilities

Palliative care

Homeless shelters

Drug addiction programs

Programs for those with mental and physical disabilities

CHILDREN

THE CHILDREN'S INITIATIVE IS AN INNOVATIVE AND FUN PROGRAM.

The program is organized in collaboration with Montreal and West Island schools and libraries.  Throughout the year, our certified  teams provide a relaxed, non-judgmental environment where children can practice and improve their reading skills by reading to a CPAT child-certified dog.

Our certified teams also visit classes for children with special needs.

The dogs give emotional support to children in pediatric units of hospitals and special residential facilities for special needs children.

PAWS ROOM

FOR MANY STUDENTS, EXAM PERIOD IS A TIME OF STRESS.

Our teams are there to help alleviate their stress.Year after year we are invited back to universities and CEGEPs throughout the West Island and Greater Montreal to meet with students, many far from home and missing their own pets. Our visits give them time to decompress and provide a much needed break from this intense time of year.
